Son of Alfred Thomas and Sarah Jane HEMMING, 31 Sydney Street, Marrickville, NSW

Served in Egypt and France and wounded at Pozieres in August 1916.  He was invlaided to hospital in England also suffering from trench fever.  Returned to France in June 1917 and taken prisoner of war in February 1918.
