The following exerpt from "The Men Who Persevered" by Bruce Davies and Gary McKay relates to an incident in April 1964 at An Diem, 55 kms south-west of Da Nang in Vietnam.
"Captain Noel de la Hunty was wounded slightly while on patrol out of An Diem with a 56-man Civilian Irregular Defence Group unit that came under fire from an enemy platoon over seven separate days. He would be awarded a Military Cross for his personal courage and professional ability under dangerous and exhausting conditions." (page 43)
