Born in South Hilton UK on 25 April 1946 Brian was a scrap metal sorter. He married Lorraine on 20 February 1971 and lived in Fremantle W.A.
Brian enlisted in the Army on 20 November 1965. After basic training he was posted to 2 RAR but not before getting into trouble for bad language, AWL and being drunk a number of times.
He along with his unit left for Vietnam on 10 May 1967. Still getting into trouble he was AWL, and given 14 days Field Punishment for disobedience and fined $10 for firing a flare as a joke.
While in Sth Vietnam he took part in Operation Coburg and was there during the V.C. Tet Offensive in 1968. He returned to Australia on 14 May 1968. He also saw service with 1 RAR in New Zealand and Malaysia.
Promoted to Lance Corporal on 1 April 1970, but after a number of offences and civil assault reduced to Private on 31 January 1973. He was finally discharged on 16 November 1973. Not a spit & polish solider but described as a good field solider. Brian or Jock as he was known died circa 2008.
