Ted when back to rejoin his old regiment 9th Light Horse in January 1917 in November news came that he had been wounded and was dangerously sick, he had his left leg amputated. RSA magazine December 1917, p.7.
Trooper Ted McGarth ((9th Light Horse) has received his discharge 1919, and you would hardly know that he left a leg a Palestine. RSA Magazine Febraury 1919 p.52.
