Biography contributed by Herman HARBERTS

Herman was conscripted for service into the Australian Defence Force (Army). He did basic training at 2RTB Puckapunyal VIC and was allocated to the RAAC - 1 Armoured Regiment, B Squadron, transferred to C Sqn ( as a 'gunner/signaller') and sent to 1ATF South Vietnam in Feb 1968. At the end of his two years of Army service returned to Australia for discharge in Oct 1968.
