Son of Frederick William Upton and Marianne Upton nee Jones of Crescent Road, Brighton, Sussex, England

25 January 1916 - enlisted at Melbourne, Victoria, with the 5th Battalion and with the rank of Private

21 July 1916 - transferred to the 57th Battalion in France

1 October 1917 - wounded in action

Commenced return to Australia on 15 May 1919 aboard HT Orontes disembarking on 28 June 1919.

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

14 August 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District.

Husband of Rubina Isabel May (Ruby) Upton nee born Nelson. Reginald and Rubina married during 1922c in Glanville, NSW.

In June 1940 Reginald was residing at 'Brighton', Highgate Street, Auburn, NSW
