Errol joined the Royal Australian Navy on the 20th September 1945. Service Number 0207.He served as a Sub Lieutenant. He was one of the Officer's of the HMAS Voyager 11 that was on Guard Escort Duty to HMAS Melbourne which was engaged in night flight training exercises. When the Voyager was unfortunately struck by the Melbourne off the coast of Jervis Bay New South Wales on the night of 10th February 1964. The missing men were all presumed dead on the 17th February 1964.
