Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

LANCE-CORPORAL CLIVE HOLLAND.
Lance-Corporal Clive Holland, who was wounded at the Dardanelles, is the eldest son of Mr. J. E. Holland, Clerk of Petty Sessions, Yass. Previous to enlisting with the 7th Australian Light Horse, Lance-Corporal Holland was overseer on Wandary Station, Forbes, he having been engaged in pastoral pursuits since he left school. When it was known in Egypt that there was no chance of the Light Horse as such being sent to Gallipoli Lance-Corporal Holland was among the first to volunteer as an infantryman. The cable received by his father was to the effect that he had been wounded, but it was not anticipated it would prove serious, and further information would follow. The injured soldier was a good horseman, and frequently rode as a gentleman rider at picnic meetings. He was a popular comrade, and a general favourite.
