Isaacs Phillip, who enlisted on April 25th 1916, was a 28 year old male with a wife and two children. He was born in Macon, Georgia in the United States of America and disembarked on 12th of August 1916 on the HMAT Ballarat A70. He marched to Etaples on the 31/12/1916, and fought in Fricourt, after being hospitilised he returned to the unit, before being hospitilised again due to a gunshot wound in the spine, leading to paralysis of the back. He returned to Australia in mid 1918 and was discharged on medical grounds. He was later cremated in the Centennial Park Cemetery in Adelaide.
