A Chaplain's Appeal.
(To the Editor of the 'Spectator.')
Sir, — As I have been appointed as. chaplain to a transport that will be sailing shortly, I desire, through your columns, to ask the ever generous Methodist folk to come to my aid as they have done to that of other chaplains. One of the first requirements is a Communion service, and I understand that' musical instruments, whether in the form of a folding organ, concertina, or even mouth organs are much appreciated by the men. Through the agency of the Y.M.C.A. and the Red Cross there will be a fair supply of reading matter and games, though of these there is never too much. And how great is the charm of a gramophone to many! Any help towards the purchase of any of these desirable things will be gratefully acknowledged by me, while the Book Depot has kindly consented to receive any parcels that may be sent or left there. Trusting you can
find room to publish this in your next issue.
Yours, etc., EDWIN B.BOND.
