Llewellyn enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 24 January 1916. He served with the 37th Infantry Battalion, Service No. 507, as a Sergeant during World War 1. He returned to Australia on 24 October 1917 and was discharged medically unfit.
He was the son of Charles Edward Dadswell -died 1951 and Florence Amelia Dadswell [nee Hayes ] –died 1942
