Son of Frederick Henry BRIDGLAND and Muriel Eliza nee McGILCHRIST

Lionel was employed by I.CI. Alkali (Aust.) Pty. Ltd. at Osborne, SA as a Supply Manager and he resided at 30 Third Avenue, Alberton East, SA. He had gained the Dipoloma of Associate of the Australasian Institute of cost Accountants.  His was responsible for procurment of raw and maintenance materials, despatch by sea, rail & road of finished products.  Prior to this he was employed by Elder Smith & Co Ltd. in Melbourne and Adelaide.

He held the following positions - Chariman of Committe SA Amateur Football League 1930 - 1933, President of S.A. Junior Amateur Football Leauge 1930 - 1932 and Captain and Coach of the Representative Team for S.A. Amateur Football Leauge 1932 - 1933.
