Private John Thomas Fawcett (Service No:V28236) enlisted in the ACMF on 12 August 1940. His NAA records indicate he was Discharged on 13 April 1943. Two brothers - William and Rupert also served in WWII.
Jack was born in 1916 in Moonee Ponds in Melbourne Victoria, the second of four children of William Richard Fawcett (b1878 at Durham Ox, Victoria) and Ethel Jane Cocks (b1883 at Fryers Creek, Victoria). William (a Farmer) and Ethel married in 1913 and William was a Farmer at Sand Hill and Tempe before his death in 1918. Ethel remarried in 1920.
Jack worked in Bendigo as a Primary Producer and Manager before his enlistment in the ACMF, and in 1941 married Donalda Cumming (b1910 in Strathfieldsaye, Victoria). Jack and Doris settled in Bendigo where Jack was an Examiner. Following Donalda's death in 1954, Jack remarried in 1958 to Enid Gwendoline Gollop (b1926 in Avoca, Victoria) - Enid was a Machinist. Jack and Gwendoline settled in Bendigo where Jack was a Farmer. Jack died in 1990 and Enid in 2017.
