Private Roy Adam Davey (Service No:T34691) enlisted in the ACMF on 19 May 1942 and was exempted from military service under the Manpower Regulations of January 1942 (NAA Service Records).

Born in 1909 in Deddington in Tasmania, Roy was the fifth of ten children of Adam Davey (b1869 in Launceston, Tasmania) and Margaret Duncanson (b1878 at Emu Bay, Tasmania). Adam (a Labourer) and Margaret married in 1900 in Launceston Tasmania and settled at Deddington where they raised their family and Adam was a Labourer.

Roy started work as a Labourer at Scottsdale in Tasmania and by 1942 was a Farmer when he enlisted in the ACMF. In 1945 Roy married Elizabeth Grace McKerrow (b1906 in Scottsdale, Tasmania) and the couple settled in Scottsdale where they raised their family and Roy was a Farmer. Elizabeth died in 1982 and Roy in 1983.
