Reginald James Montgomery Maddox (Service No:T29787) enlisted in the ACMF at Devonport on 29 April 1942.

Born in Sheffield, Tasmania in 1904, Reg was fourth of six children of James Maddox (b1863 at Port Sorrell, Tasmania) and Margaret (Maggie) Montgomery (b1873 in Renfrewshire, Scotland) - Maggie immigrated in 1883, arriving in Launceston, Tasmania with her parents and siblings on board the Cephalonia. John (a Licensed Victualler) and Maggie married in 1897 in Mersey, Tasmania and lived in Latrobe, Mersey and Kentish where they raised their family and John was a Licensed Victualler.

Reg worked as a Bank Teller/Clerk in Wilmot and Devonport and in 1930 in St Marys, married May Elizabeth Salter (b1900 in St Marys, Tasmania) - May was working as a Shop Assistant. Reg and May settled in Devonport where they raised their family and Reg worked as a Bank Teller/Clerk until the late 1940s when he became a Fruiterer. Reg died in 1984 and May in 1987.
