Keith was the third of eleven children of John Russel Walter William Bellchambers (b1880 in Deloraine, Tasmania) and Louise Elizabeth Yaxley (b1882 in Ulverstone, Tasmania). John (a Blacksmith) and Louise married in 1902 in Devonport, Tasmania. John carried out his own business at Kindred and Kimberley and was a keen fisherman and excellent shot.
Keith worked as a Miller in Latrobe, Tasmania where he married Evelyn Ida Nolan (b1908 in Blythe, Tasmania) in 1929. Keith was a Shift Foreman in May 1942 when he enlisted in the ACMF (Service No:T50646). He and Joan settled in Railton, where Keith was working as a Cement burner when he died in 1957. Evelyn died in 1988.
