Private Thomas Frederick Gibbs (Service No:W70189) served in the ACMF with 5th Battalion VDC, enlisting on 26 April 1942 at Dinninup, Western Australia.
Born in Albany, Western Australia in 1905, Thomas was second of ten children of Thomas Gibbs Snr (b1856 in Serpentine, Western Australia) and Ellen (Nellie) Harriet Flindell (b1878 in Kojonup, Western Australia). Thomas Snr and Nellie married at Arthur River in 1899. Thomas was a Framer at Darkin in Arthur River, and he and Nellie settled on Rose Farm at Kulikup, where they raised their family and Thomas Snr was a Farmer.
Thomas was a Farmer in Kulikup, and in 1936 in Blackwood married Gwendolyn (Gwen) Nellie Henderson (b1913 at Boyup Brook, Western Australia). Thomas and Gwen settled at Kulikup, where Thomas was a Farmer and Gwen ran the Telephone Exchange. Thomas died in 1975 and Gwen in 2008.
