Contact address given at the time of enlistment was C/- Jardine, Matheson & Coy. Ltd, Hong Kong, China. George had studied engineering for two and a half years before going to sea.

Son of Joseph Edward Vaughan and Marianna Vaughan, 23 West Mall, Bristol, England.

Commenced return to Australia on 29 May 1917 aboard HT Bulla disembarking on 8 July 1917

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Post war he returned to Hong King and resumed working with Jardine, Matheson & Coy, Ltd  but returned at a later date to live in Ingleburn, NSW
