Lieutenant Nancy Ruth Molesworth (Service No:N390384) enlisted in the AWAS 6 March 1942 as a Corporal, and was attached to HQ 2 Australian Corps, HQ Victoria Barracks and 1 Movement Control Staff. Lieutenant Molesworth's Appointment was Terminated on 2 January 1946. Brother Bill served in the RAAF, and both parents (Cecil and Connie) served in WWI.
Born in 1920 in Roseville, Sydney, New South Wales, Nancy was eldest of two children of Dr Cecil Stanley Molesworth (b1888 in Sydney, New South Wales) and Constance (Connie) Elizabeth Kendall (b1890 in Dorset, England). Cecil (a Medical Practitioner) and Connie (a Nursing Sister) married in Cairo, Egypt in 1917 when both were on active duty - Cecil in the AIF and Connie in the Australian Army Nursing Service. Following their return from WWI, Cecil and Connie lived in Nowra, Leeton and Sydney, where they raised their family and Cecil was a Medical Practitioner.
Nancy was a Civil Servant in Sydney, working as a Secretary and Stenographer in the Department of the Army when she enlisted in the AWAS in 1942. Following Discharge, Nancy was in Sydney in 1946 when she married Lawrence Edward Deane (1909 in Mosman, Sydney, New South Wales) - Lawrence had served in the Army (Captain; Service No:NX166183). Nancy and Lawrence settled in Sydney, where they raised their family and Lawrence worked as a Trustee Officer. Lawrence died in 1998 and Nancy in 2002.
