Jack's story
Jack Creary is my 2nd great Uncle. His father was Walter Creary - he married a Duncan from Botany Bay - his two brothers (one was my g-granfather) married two of his wife's sisters (Duncans). Jack's father Walter was a butcher in The Corso, Manly in the early 1900s, along with his brother. Walter Creary died from the influenza pandemic in 1919, leaving 3 children under the age of 5, one of which was Jack. Walter is buried in the old Manly cemetery. Jack's name is on Walter's gravestone. Jack was sent to be with one of the Duncan family in Maclean on the North Coast of NSW, where he went to school, later moving back to Sydney.
