Edna was the eldest of three children of George Edward Carey (b1893 in Northam, WA) and Ella Carlton (b1894 in Lang Lang, Victoria). George (a Labourer) and Ella married in 1920 in Perth WA, where they settled and raised their family and George worked as a Motorman.
Edna worked in Perth WA as a Cashier and Clerk and in 1943 enlisted in the ACMF (Gunner; Service No:WF3030). Edna was attached to 29 Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery when she was Discharged in July 1944.
In 1943 Edna married John Hunter Wilson (b1920 in Kalgoorlie WA) - John was a Lieutenant (Service No:WX8928). Edna and John settled in Fremantle WA, where John worked as a Polisher. He died in 1987 and Edna in 1992.
