Private Rex Malcolm Leach (Service No:N319466) enlisted in the ACMF on 2 July 1942 and was attached to General Details Depot when he was Discharged (medically unfit for further service) on 4 August 1942.

The youngest of four children, Rex was born in 1924 in Melbourne Victoria to Edward Edwin Leach (b1888 in London, England) and Violet Adelina Pearl Crook (b1889 in Melbourne, Victoria). Edward (a Butcher) and Violet (a Saleswoman) married in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1915. They lived in Auckland and Christchurch where Edward was a Butcher, before travelling to London with their family in 1922. On their return they lived in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney where Edward was a Butcher.

Rex lived with his parents in Sydney NSW where he was a Clerk. In 1961 he married Murell Irene Stant (b1925 in Sydney, NSW) - Murell was a Stenographer, and follwoing her death in 1962 Rex continued living with his mother (Edward died in 1949)and working as a Clerk. In the mid 1970s, Rex was a Manager in Sydney NSW when he remarried - Lillian May Ingram (nee Varley; b1905 in Sydney, NSW) - Lillian was a Shop Owner. Rex and Lillian lived in Sydney NSW, where Lillian died in 1995 and Rex in 1999.
