Prior to coming to Australia Sydney had served in the Lancashire Fuseliers for about four years

Husband of Magdalena K. Owen nee Rau of Murphy Street, South Yarra, Victoria. Sydney and Magdalena married during 1916c

Commenced return to Australia 22 August 1919 aboard HT Anchises disembarking on 7 October 1919

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

Post war Sydney was employed byt the Department of Supply and Development, Melbourne, Victoria and a member of the Limbless Soldiers Association.
