Private Harry Baxter Chesterfield (Service No:V352409) served in the ACMF (29 March 1943 - 18 October 1945) with 8th Battalion (Vic) VDC. He had enlisted in the AIF in WWI - enlisting as a Private (Recruit Depot Battalion Broadmeadows) on 24 May 1918 and Discharging on 24 December 1918.

Harry was born at Lara Lake via Geelong, Victoria in 1898, third of six children of Martain Taylor Chesterfield (b1874 at Little River, Victoria) and Sarah Jane Smith (b1874 at Hovells Creek, Victoria). Martain was a Farmer at Lara Lake via Geelong in 1894 when he and Sarah married. They settled at Lara Lake where they raised their family and Martain was a Farmer.

Harry worked as a Farmer/Driver with his father at Lara Lake via Geelong, and in 1921 married Mary Nairn (b1899 in Buangor, Victoria). Harry and Mary settled at Lara Lake, where they raised their family and Harry was a Farmer. In 1925 they were farming at Mt Duneed before returning to Lara Lake. Following Mary's death in 1964, Harry retired to Geelong, where he died in 1977.
