Collapsed On Duty
Mr. Albert John Fogarty (62), an employee of the Silverton Tramway Company, collapsed on duty this morning. He was dead on arrival at the Hospital.
A widower, of 185 Mica Street, Mr. Fogarty was the crossing keeper at Oxide Street. He was working at the signal box at the corner of Blende and Oxide Streets when he collapsed about 9.45 a.m.
Mr. Fogarty had been employed with the Silverton Tramway Company since 1916.
He had been receiving medical attention for some time.
Mr. Fogarty was born at Waukaringa (S.A.) He was a veteran of World War 1, serving first in the Light Horse, then 2nd Tunnelling Company until the end of the war.
He leaves a daughter, Mrs L. McQuillan with whom he had been residing.
The funeral will take place on Saturday leaving the Cathedral at a time to be announced. Mr. Fogarty, will be buried in the same grave as his wife, who died in April, 1940.
Norman Woodman has charge of the funeral.
