Lurline was the third of nine children of Johann (John) Walter Bailey (b1878 in Jindera, NSW) and May Elliott (b1890 in Busselton, WA). John (a Miner in Greenbushes, WA) and May married in 1907 in Greenbushes WA. They lived in South Australia and NSW before returning to Greenbushes WA in 1911. John worked as a Miner and Farmer, and in 1943 he and May were living in Balingup WA where he was the Hotelkeeper and May the Housekeeper.

Lurline attended Bunbury High School, where she was Athletics Champion, and was a Member of the Girls' Friendly Society and Younger Set of the CWA , and Captain and Secretary of the SW Ladies' Hockey Association WA. In the mid 1930s Lurline moved to Perth WA where she worked as a Clerk Typist for Elders Smith and Coy, and was a Member of the Subiaco Women's Rifle Club. In September 1941 Lurline enlisted din the WRAAF (Service No:94418) and was a Flight Officer when she was Discharged in September 1945.

Lurline lived in Innisfail, QLD following her Discharge and worked as a Clerk before returning to Balingup in the mid 1950s. In 1958 Lurline married Robert Hubert Stinton (b1916 in Greenbushes, WA) - Robert was a Farmer. Lurline and Robert settled in Busselton, where Robert was a Farmer. Lurline died in 1988 and Robert in 1989.
