Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of  Frank James and Emma STEVENS, Colton Vale, Mackay, Queensland

News was received by the Acting-Mayor yesterday advising that Private H. R. Stevens, 11th Light Horse, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Stevens, Colton Vale, was killed in action on 7th. August. The message requested that the deep sympathy of the King, Queen and Commonwealth Govermment be conveyed in the loss the army had sustained. Private Stevens was a well-known rifleman and very popular in the Mackay district.
