William Reginald Pfeiffer was born in Mt Pleasant, South Australia in the year 1893. William was the loving husband of Mrs G L Pfeiffer and beloved and only son of F.W and M.E Pfeiffer.

William lived in Torrensville, South Australia and before his time in war he worked as a clerk. He kept records, accounts and undertook other routine administrative duties. On enlisting, he was described as 23 years old, had grey eyes and dark brown hair, married, 5' 9.75” and weighed 154 lbs and deemed as medically fit.

William received two medals for his service in World War 1. These awards were a British War Medal and a Victory Medal.

28th Of April 1916 - Enlistment date

1st Of July 1916 – Transferred to A.K.C at Mitchem

17th Of May 1916 - Vaccinated and was examined and passed

25th Of August 1917 – Embarkation date

31st Of August 1917 - Embarkation details - Unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire

6th Of October 1917 – Promoted to Sergeant

13th Of October 1917 - Reverted back to Private

20th Of December 1917 – Admitted into No. 14 General hospital, A.I.F with tonsillitis

25th Of December 1917 – Discharged from hospital

In 1918 he was sent to Britain to train with the Australian Flying Corps. In March 1919 he began his return to Australia on board HT 'Czarita.

13th Of May 1919 – Arrived back in Adelaide

5th Of June 1919 – Discharge date

14th Of August 1931 – Date of death
