James was born 14th August 1891 in Ipswich. His parents were John Patrick Quinn and Johanna nee Portley.
He is listged on the Logan Village District Honor Roll, Ipswich War Memorial, and the Logan Village Museum Honour Roll.
It is thought that he was working in the District at the time he enlisted in WW1.
He is the 3rd youngest of 7 children.
