The youngest of six brothers to enlist during WW1, Ivo was only 15 years of age when he joined the Royal Australian Navy with the rank of Boy II class during 1918. He did not see any action overseas and was discharged in 1920.
His older brother 2193 Pte. Harmond Henry Johnson 49th Battalion AIF, was killed in action at Messines during June 1917.
They were the sons of Horatio Edward Johnson, Tweed River, New South Wales, their mother Sarah had passed away during 1908.
