Brother of Alfred Zelman who returneed to Australia on 27 January 1919 having served in 8th Battalion.

Husband of Blanche Zelman nee Borsa of Wattle Valley Road, Canterbury, Victoria. Ernest and Blanche married during 1903c in Victoria
