Son of James Unwin and Isabel Unwin of Augustus Street, Enmore, NSW
4 September 1914 - enlisted at Marrickville with the 3rd Divisional Train and with the rank of Driver
26 May 1915 - returned to Australia, first time, aboard HT Ceramic.
25 March 1916 - returned to Egypt with the re-inforcements for the 2nd Light Horse Brigade Train.
26 March 1916 - transferred to the Field Engineers ANZAC Mounted Division as Driver.
16 December 1917 - transferred to the 3rd Divisional Train
Commenced return to Australia on 6 May 1919, second time, aboard Kaiser-a-Hind disembarking on 16 June 1919
Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal
11 August 1919 - discharged at the 2nd Military District
During 1944c Norman married Elizabeth Taylor Logan in Rockdale, NSW
