Word has been received that Urban Jack Vigors (known as "Herb" Vigors), a one-time well-known jockey, was killed in action on September 30 last. The deceased soldier enlisted at Granville and went to Egypt with the Light Horse two years ago. The late Mr. Vigors served his time with Mr. Tom Donoghue at Rosehill in the early days, and was a first-class horseman on the flat and over the hurdles, and at one time rode for the late Mr. James Thompson. He leaves a wife and one grown-up son at Granville to mourn.
