Able Seaman Jeffrey Reginald Ernest White (Service No:F/4286) enlisted in the RAN on 28 May 1942 and was attached to HMAS Cerberus. On 18 January 1944 he was serving on board HMAS Rushcutter when he was promoted to Able seaman (Radar) and was Discharged from HMAS Leeuwin on 27 February 1946.

Jeffrey was the eldest son of Victor William White (b1890 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Ida Comfort Hayes (b1897 in Bunbury, WA). Victor served in the AIF in WWI (Private; Service No:3238) and had been a Teacher in Narrogin and Bunbury prior to his marriage in Narrogin in 1923 to Ida. Victor and Ida lived in Narrogin, Bunbury, Wittenoom and Kalgoorlie where they raised their family and Victor was a Teacher.

Following his Discharge from the RAN in 1946, Jeffrey completed his studies at The University of Western Australia, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in 1950. In 1952 Jeffey worked for the Department of Repatriation as a Clerk, and in 1953 was appointed an Hon Captain with the 5th Military District. Jeffrey was a Psychologist in Perth in 1954 when he married Margaret Reynolds Troup (b1931 in Perth, WA) - Margaret was a Teacher. Jeffrey and Margaret settled in Perth where Jeffrey was a Psychiatrist. Margaret died in 1992 and Jeffrey in 1995.
