SAPPER STANLEY HENSE, third son of Mr. F. Hense, of Burwood
MENTIONED IN DESPATCHES (ROUTINE ORDERS OF JUNE 29) FOR CONSPICUOUS GALLANTRY AT GALLIPOLI.
Sapper Hehse, who landed in Egypt on his l8th birthday. In a recent letter to his parents, said that he was one of a party detailed to build a temporary barrel-pier jetty under terrific Shrapnel fire at about the time of the landing at Galllpoll. Twelve of the party were "mentioned" in the list published in yesterday's issue of "The Dally Telegraph." Sapper House was apprenticed to the plumbing trade when he enlisted with the Engineers in August of last year.
