Able Seaman Henry Ralph Fortescue Robinson (Service No:F5392) served in the RAN from 25 July 1944 to 21 October 1946. An Ordinary Seaman II on enlistment, he served on HMAS Cerberus, Melville, Southern Cross and Parkes and was attached to HMAS Leeuwin at Discharge

Born in 1927 in Brookton via Beverley WA, Ralph was third of four children of Stanley Fortescue Robinson (b1891 in Roebourne, WA) and Dorothy Irene Mann (b1893 in Tibooburra, NSW). Stanley (a Farmer) and Dorothy married in 1924 in Bassendean, Perth, WA and lived at Brookton - where Stanley was a Farmer until the mid 1930s when the family moved to Perth. Stanley had served in both WWI and WWI, and worked as a Labourer and Mail Officer with the Post Master General's Department in Perth.

Ralph was seventeen years of age when he enlisted in the RAN, and lived with his parents in Victoria Park following his Discharge. In 1955 Ralph married Norma Fay Timmel (b1932 in Perth, WA) - Norma was working as a Typist in Perth. Ralph and Norma settled in Perth where Ralph worked as a Carpenter and Clerk. Ralph died in 1997 and Norma in 2011.
