Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Bernard Knight came to Australia from England as an assisted emigrant to learn farming during 1913, when he was 17 years of age.
He was farming near Murwillumbah whenhe enlisted. He went missing during the heavy fighting at Mouquet Farm and was not confirmed as killed in action until July 1917, almost 12 months later.
His mother stated on his roll of honour form, "He landed in France in June-was killed without ever coming home-he is our only son"
His remains were discovered during 1937, with his identity disc and he was given a decent burial in the London Cemetery and Extension, France.
