SB PO Dudley William Fortescue Robinson (Service No:31972) initially served with the ACMF (Private; Service No:W91058) from 24 November 1942 to 4 March 1943 - 10 Australian Army Medical Corps. Enlisting in the RAN on 25 February 1943 (DVA: WWII Nominal Roll), as an SBII attached to HMAS Cerberus. He served on HMAS Torrens, Melville and Castlemaine and was an SB Petty Officer attached to HMAS Leeuwin at Discharge on 12 April 1950.
Born in 1924 in Guildford WA, Dudley was the eldest of four children of Stanley Fortescue Robinson (b1891 in Roebourne, WA) and Dorothy Irene Mann (b1893 in Tobooburra, NSW). Stanley (a Farmer) and Dorothy married in 1924 in Bassendean, Perth, WA. Stanley served in WWI and WWII, and was a Farmer in Brookton until the mid 1930s when he and Dorothy moved their family to Bassendean where Stanley worked as a Labourer and Mail Officer with the Post Master General's Department.
Dudley was a Clerk in Bassendean when he enlisted in the ACMF, and was in the RAN in 1947 when he married Jean Cicely Beale (b1926 in Fremantle, WA). Following his Discharge in 1950, Dudley and Jean settled in Bassendean where Dudley worked as a Shop Assistant and Clerk. Jean died in 1988 and Dudley in 1990.
