Son of Rebecca Tighe of Inverell; brother of Edward Victor Tighe who was killed in action while serving in the 1st Light Horse Regiment on 7 August 1915

Father of Thelma Kathleen Tighe Perry - ex-nuptial child.

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

19 January 1922 - Base Records to Mrs Rita Amelia Conole, custodian of  Thelma Kathleen Tighe, asking if she would be prepared to undertake the care of some of Frederick medals until such time as Thelma was old enough to take care of them herself

14 March 1922 - Rita signed a Statuary Declaration stating that she would hold the medals in trust for Themla adding that she was in fact Thelma's mother

22 May 1922 - Base records wrote to Frederick's mother asking if she had any objection to Frederick's medals being held in trust for his ex-nuptial child

On June 1922 Base Records ruled, that the soldier's medals be divided between his ex-nuptial daughter (to be held in trust for her) and his mother; the latter objected, arguing that she had been designated as next of kin and that her son 'to my knowledge .. never had a daughter. The Victory Medal and Memorial Scroll were given to the daughter, and the British War Medal to the mother.
