Florence Eve Chauvel was born on 20th June 1923 at South Yarra, Victoria, Australia. She was the youngest child of Henry George Chauvel (General Harry Chauvel) and Sybil Jopp. She was known to everyone as Eve.
Eve married Lieutenant Colonel Edward Maberly in 1954 in St Alban's Church, Molo, Kenya. They had three sons.
Widowed for 40 years, Eve passed away, aged 93 years, on 26th September 2016 in Zimbabwe.
