Survivor
William ( Bill ) was one of the lucky ones to have survived the sinking of the HMAS CANBERRA, he was the second last survivor before he passed in 2013.
He started his own business after being discharged from the navy, built houses for family, decided to start a joinery workshop which then led to cabinet making, he had 2 sons who were seconded into the business at the ages of 12 and 14. The business grew in reputation as the boys took over more and more but the name of WR SALTER CABINETMAKER lives on forever all around Australia.
