Arrived in Australia aged 20 years via New Zealand on 17 September 1912. Took the Oath of Allegiance on 16 August 1915.

Son of Charles Eugene Verpillot and Berthe Verpillot of Barnacliff Avenue, Bondi, NSW later of 'Ville des pins', Caromb, Vaucluse, France.

Private Verpillot was originally remembered at the V.C. Corner Australian Cemetery Memorial but his body was later found and identified near Pheasant Wood with 400 others. He was then laid to rest at the Fromelles Pheasant Wood Military Cemetery with his mates.
