Alexander Francis was born on 16 October 1916 in Carlton, Victoria, Australia. To John and Alice Hyne.Alex enlisted in the Royal Australian Navy on 3 AUGUST 1942 at Port Melbourne, Victoria,Australia. Alex married Hazel Louisa Ford on 7 July 1945 in ST. Joseph's Catholic Church in West Brunswick, Victoria Australia. They had one child during their marriage. He discharged on 31 MAY 1946. He died on 29 April 1969 in Preston, Victoria, Australia at the age of 52, and was buried in Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery.
