Able Seaman Brian Roydhouse (Service No:pm6522) enlisted as an Ordinary Seaman on board HMAS Rushcutter on 8 June 1943. Able Seaman Roydhouse was attached to HMAS Lonsdale at Discharge on 12 July 1946.
Born in 1925 in Perth Western Australia, Brian was the youngest of two children of Jack Roydhouse MC (born 1892 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Kathleen Ivy Finlay (b1896 in Perth, WA). Jack (a School Master) and Kathleen married in Perth in 1922 - Jack had served in the AIF in WWI. Jack and Kathleen lived in Perth where Jack was a Teacher at Guildford Grammar School, Sports Master at Perth High School and Sales Manager for Ford Motor Coy. In the mid 1930s the family moved to Geelong, Victoria where Jack was Manager of Ford Motor Coy and sons Don and Brian attended Geelong College - Don served in the RAAF in WWII.
Brian returned to Geelong following his Discharge, and in Sydney NSW in 1948 married Patricia Claire Dennis (b1928 in Orange, NSW). Brian and Patricia settled in Geelong, Victoria where Brian was a Retailer. Patricia died in 1985 and Brian in 1988.
