A Pioneer WRAN.
Ldg Tel Marjorie Hadley, nee Price, WR/27 was one of our first WRANS. In 1943 she met a USN Radioman attached to the USN Radio unit in Australia. In 1944 Marjorie was granted a compassionate discharge so she could go to the US with her husband as a War Bride, who had posted back to the states. Over the next few decades they had numerous postings before Frank retired from the USN as a Commander.
There is a little confusion about where and when she died. Ryerson has her dying in a nursing home in Parkes near her home town of Trundle in January 2005, however the memorial has her passing date as November. A family tree has her dying in Texas in Nov. It may be she returned to Australia after Frank's passing and her ashes were interred in November in Arlington.
