Petty Officer Edwin James Green (Service No:F2099/17) enlisted in the RAN as an Able Seaman on 4 September 1939. Promoted to Petty Officer on 1 October 1945, he served on HMAS Rushcutter and Cerberus and was attached to HMAS Parkes at Discharge on 6 June 1946.
Born in 1917 in Collie WA, Ted was fifth of six children of George Henry Green (b1878 in Kadina, South Australia) and Isabella Allison Hodge (b1880 in Portland, South Australia). George (an Ironmonger) and Isabella married in 1904 in Perth WA and lived in Fremantle, Midland, Collie and Jarrahdale where George worked as a Boilermaker, Tallyman and Timber Worker. George was killed at Mundijong in a head-on crah with a military wagon in 1943.
Ted was a Hairdresser in Perth, and in 1939 married Maida Beryl Clifford (b1915 in Boulder, WA). Ted and Maida settled in Perth where they raised their family and Ted was a Hairdresser. Ted died in 1990 and Maida in 2006.
