Born Edward Young QUINTAL
Son of Albert Edward QUINTAL and Dorothy nee BUFFETT
Young was unmarried when he enlisted.
It appears he was known as Young Buffett on Norfolk Island before he enlisted. He was apparently brought up by Peter Buffett and his wife (Buffett was Quintal’s uncle and his mother’s brother), thus it is assumed he took the name of Buffett from this relationship.
