Herbert Lawson was born in the Barossa South Australia in September 1887, he lived in the Barossa until he enlisted in the war. Before enlisting for WW1 he served in another battle and was rejected for being unfit for his majesty’s service. His job before enrolling was as a laborer and he was never an apprentice before that.

Herbert was never married but his next of kin was his mother Lovisa Lawson who also lived in the Barossa.

Lawson, Herbert Henry enlisted on 15 August 1916. He embarked on the 21st of October 1916 in Port Melbourne and disembarked on the 28th of December 1916 in Devonport.  Herbert got wounded in battle in Belgium on 20/9/17. A few months later he was discharged on the 16th of December 1917. 

Herbert Lawson was discharged and later fought in World War 2.
