This man did extremely good work with his Hotchkiss gun on April 19th showing great gallantry in choosing forward positions and in covering the withdrawal of his squadron.

Wiliam James Francis Grogan was born destined to serve his country.

He was a trooper with the 1st Light Horse Regiment in World War I, receiving a Mention In Despatches. After the war he married and became a police officer for a number of years. During World War II he joined the Civilian Military Forces, again protecting and serving the people...
