Son of Edward MORLEY, New Lambton, NSW
ABLE SEAMAN EDWARD MORLEY. R.A.N., 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Morley, of Victoria st., New Lambton, was wounded by Japanese machine-gun fire after the enemy sank H.M.A.S. Armidale off Timor.
He had then been in the Navy only 13 months. A bullet severely injured his jaw on the left side. He and others were five days at sea in a disabled launch before they were rescued. His jaw is being restored by plastic surgery at an AustraIian military hospital.
